Reiki Training for The City of Trees
Highland Park is a small enclave city surrounded on every side by Detroit, and longtime residents still call it The City of Trees. Its civic story is told in a handful of buildings, from the Highland Park Ford Plant to the McGregor Public Library.
Ascension School of Healing Arts welcomes Highland Park students to its Ferndale classroom, where Reiki is taught in small groups with plenty of guided, hands-on practice.
A City Built Around Making Things
The Highland Park Ford Plant is now home to the Model T Automotive Heritage Complex, and Chrysler Corporation was founded in Highland Park in 1925. Few cities this size have shaped how so many people live and work.
Reiki asks for a different kind of attention than a production line. Students learn to slow down, place their hands with care and notice what they feel, one practice session at a time.
Neighbors Rebuilding Together
Avalon Village, the grassroots eco-village and community-rebuilding project on Avalon Street, shows how much a few determined neighbors can grow together. That spirit of shared effort is close to how a Reiki class works.
In the first course, Reiki I and II, each student receives a personal attunement from Donna Lakes and practices Reiki for themselves, for another person and at a distance.
Classes in Ferndale or Online
Highland Park lines Woodward Avenue, and the Ferndale school sits just west of Woodward as well. Students can attend class in person there or join the same live sessions online from home.
After Reiki I and II, many students continue into Year One, the Intuitive Healer program, and some go on to Ascension Healer training in Year Two.
