Ascension School of Healing Arts Serving Macomb County, Michigan

Classes for Macomb County Students

Macomb County is Michigan's third-most populous county, and its students can attend Ascension School of Healing Arts classes in Ferndale, in Oakland County, or join many of them live online. Self-study courses let anyone learn at home on their own schedule.

The county was formally organized on January 15, 1818 as the third county in the Michigan Territory, and it carries the name of Alexander Macomb Jr., a Detroit-born general who later led the United States Army.

Lake St. Clair and the Bath City

Its eastern edge is Lake St. Clair, a shallow, boat-filled lake that locals half-seriously call the sixth Great Lake. The county seat, Mount Clemens, ran a mineral-bath industry from 1873 to 1974 and once drew visitors from across the country.

The Clinton River, which early French explorers called the Nottawasippee, took its present name in 1824. Donna Lakes, who has been teaching since 1999, leads the Reiki and intuitive development programs.
