Online Reiki and Energy Healing Classes for Illinois

Reiki Classes for the Prairie State, Live on Zoom

Illinois runs from the Lake Michigan shoreline in the northeast all the way down to the meeting of the Mississippi and Ohio rivers, and students live along every stretch of it. The Ascension School of Healing Arts teaches from Ferndale, Michigan, and every Illinois student joins the live Zoom class from home, whether home is Chicago in the northeast corner, Springfield in the center of the state, or a town close to the Wabash and Ohio rivers to the south.

The live Zoom class is a real class. You see your teacher, ask questions out loud, and practice alongside other students in real time. Our self-study courses sit beside the live sessions for anyone who wants to review a lesson, go slowly, or keep learning between classes at their own pace.

From Chicago to the Far South, One Shared Screen

Illinois is long enough that its climate splits in two: humid continental over most of the state, humid subtropical from about Carbondale south. The weather outside a window in Chicago and the weather outside one near Carbondale can feel like two different places on the same evening, yet the live Zoom class looks and sounds the same from both.

Illinois residents also know the word downstate is elastic. Rockford sits north of Chicago and still gets called downstate now and then. However you draw that line, it makes no difference here. A student in Rockford, one in DeKalb and one in Springfield can share the same lesson, the same questions and the same practice time.

Quiet Practice in the Land of Lincoln

This is corn and soybean country, among the leading states for both crops, and Chicago is home to CME Group and Cboe Global Markets. Whether your work follows the planting and harvest seasons or the trading floor, your week is probably full. Self-study courses let you return to a lesson when your schedule opens up, and the live Zoom class gives you a steady place to practice with others.

Classes are led by Donna Lakes, teaching since 1999, in a warm, grounded and practical style. You learn hand positions, how to settle into a calm practice for yourself, and how to share Reiki with family and friends, with time set aside to ask what you actually want to know.

Getting Started from Illinois

Begin by choosing the format that fits you: the live Zoom class for real-time teaching and group practice, a self-study course for learning on your own timeline, or both together. All you need is a device with a camera, a reliable connection and a quiet corner where you can sit or lie comfortably.

Many Illinois students bring a sense of place into their practice, whether that is the open prairie at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, the sandstone bluffs at Starved Rock State Park, or simply a quiet room at home. Reiki goes wherever you are, and the live Zoom class meets you there.
