Classes and Courses

What can I study at ASHA?

ASHA teaches energy healing and intuitive development at every level. You can start with a single Reiki I and II class, take a standalone 12-week course, follow the two-year certification path of Year One and Year Two, join the year-long Empower Me Program, or learn at home with a self-study course. The Healing Courses page lays out each option side by side, and All Courses lists everything open for enrollment.

How do I become Reiki certified at ASHA?

Begin with Reiki I and II Certification, a five-hour live class that includes your attunement with Donna Lakes and lifetime access to the online student portal. No experience is needed. Reiki Master certification (Levels 3 and 4) is part of Year One, the Intuitive Healer Certification. If you would rather learn at home, there is also an Intuitive Usui Reiki I and II self-study course.

What is the difference between Year One and Year Two?

Year One is four 12-week courses taken over a year: Managing Your Energy, Self-Healing, Intuitive Development and Advanced Energy Healing. Students who complete it earn the Intuitive Healer and Reiki Master certifications. Year Two is the Ascension Healer Certification: 48 weeks of advanced study across four courses and four certifications, building on everything from Year One.

Do I need experience before I enroll?

Not for Reiki I and II, and Year One welcomes beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. Year One does ask that you hold Reiki I and II first, either from ASHA or from another teacher with proof of your certificate. Year Two asks for Reiki Master and the Intuitive Healer Certification, and certificates earned outside ASHA may be accepted with proof. The Year One and Year Two pages spell out each requirement.

Can I attend live classes on Zoom instead of coming to Ferndale?

Yes. The 12-week courses, Year One, Year Two and the Empower Me Program meet once a week for a live class that you can attend in person at the school or join live over Zoom, and Year Two and Empower Me students may choose the format week by week. Reiki I and II is taught in person or by live video, and the Acu Aroma Reiki Certification is an online course.

What happens if I miss a live class?

Year One students can watch the weekly class recording, and Year Two students have lecture videos and class recordings they can return to at any time. For any other class, student support can help with times and schedules at asha@ascendmylife.com.

How is a self-study course different from a live course?

A self-study course is self-paced: video lessons, manuals, worksheets and guided meditations that you work through on your own schedule, with lifetime access to many of the programs. A live course meets with a teacher each week, in person or on Zoom, and moves forward with a group. Self-study versions are offered for Reiki I and II, Acu Aroma Reiki, Managing Your Energy and Self-Healing.

Can I take one 12-week course without joining the full program?

Yes. Intuitive Development, Managing Your Energy and Self-Healing are each offered as a standalone 12-week course, and each can also count as a step toward the full certification. Each course page shows what it covers and how to enroll.

Who teaches the classes?

Donna Lakes, ASHA's founder and head instructor, leads the certification path. The Meet the Team page introduces each of the school's healers, with a link to book a session with each one.

Healing Services and Readings

What kinds of healing sessions and readings does ASHA offer?

The Healing Services and Readings page lists every session in four groups: energy healing sessions such as Reiki Healing and Crystal Healing, deep healing and inner work such as Ascension Healing and Inner Child Healing, readings and intuitive guidance such as Tarot Reading and Mediumship, and botanical and specialty therapies such as flower essence consultations and Aura Photography and Reading. Each service has its own page with the details and its own questions and answers.

How do I book a healing session?

Choose a service on the Healing Services and Readings page and press its Book button to pick a time. To see every session type in one place, open all booking options. For a session with Donna Lakes herself, use the Appointment Request with Donna Lakes page.

Can I have a session if I live far from Ferndale?

Yes, for many services. Reiki Healing and Ascension Healing can be booked as distance sessions over phone or Zoom, and Flower Essence Therapy takes place entirely at a distance, wherever you live. Check each service's own page for how it is offered.

How do I pay for an appointment with Donna Lakes?

Use the Make a Payment page. You sign the liability waiver once, the payment button appears, and you note the service, date and time of the appointment you are paying for.

Is energy healing at ASHA a replacement for medical care?

No. ASHA's sessions and classes are holistic and complementary. They work alongside, and never in place of, care from your doctor or a mental-health professional, so please keep seeing your own providers for any health concern. You can read the full Client Intake Consent Form before your first session.

Community Events

Where can I find ASHA's community events?

Every upcoming gathering is on the Community Events page, shown as a month-by-month calendar and as a list, and each event has its own page with the details. You can also reach it from Community Events in the menu and from the Events button at the bottom of every page.

How do I register for an event?

Open the event on the Community Events page and use its ticket link, which takes you to Eventbrite. Some free gatherings also offer a free RSVP right here on the ASHA site.

Are events open to the public, and are any of them free?

Yes. Community events are open to ASHA students and the public, and most of them welcome complete beginners. Some, such as the monthly Reiki Share, are free, and each listing on the Community Events page shows whether it is free or needs a ticket.

How can I hear about new classes and events?

Sign up for the ASHA newsletter, or use the signup form at the bottom of any page. Each issue carries class and course updates from the school, and new subscribers can also get the free Energy Hook-Up Meditation.

Enrolling, Payments and Policies

How do I enroll in a course?

Open the course from Healing Courses or All Courses and press its enroll or register button. The course goes into your cart and you finish at checkout. Your course then appears when you sign in at Student Login, one account for all of your courses and payments.

Are payment plans available?

Many courses offer one. Each course page shows its pay-in-full price beside any monthly payment plan, and some, such as Reiki I and II and Year One, also list Klarna and Afterpay. Check the course's own page for its current options.

Who do I contact about a charge, a receipt or my payment plan?

The Billing Info page shows who to reach for each billing question. For invoices, receipts and payment plans, email asha@ascendmylife.com. If you cannot sign in, you can reset your password yourself.

What is ASHA's refund policy?

Please read the Refund Policy in ASHA's Policies, Terms and Conditions before you buy. That page holds the full, current wording on refunds, returns, shipping and privacy.

Are there forms or agreements to sign?

Depending on what you sign up for, you may be asked to complete the Informed Consent and Liability Waiver for workshops and classes, the Client Intake Consent Form for healing sessions, or the Ascension Student Contract. Each one is on its own page, so you can read it in full before you sign.
