Ascension School of Healing Arts Serving South Lyon, Michigan 48178

Reiki and Intuitive Healer Classes for South Lyon Students

South Lyon, Michigan is a city in Oakland County with the ZIP code 48178. It began in 1832 as a settlement called Thompson's Corners. That same year the surrounding township was named Lyon after state legislator Lucius Lyon, and the settlement took its own name from its place within the township. South Lyon became a village in 1873 and a city in 1930.

Ascension School of Healing Arts, known as ASHA, is located in Ferndale, Michigan. Students who live in South Lyon are welcome to study Reiki, intuitive development and meditation with Reiki Master/Teacher Donna Lakes and the ASHA team. Several programs can be attended in person at the school or live online.

The Witch's Hat Depot and McHattie Park

South Lyon's Witch's Hat Depot is a railroad depot built in 1909, and its distinctive roofline gave the building its name. In 1976 the depot was moved to McHattie Park, where it is now the focal point of a historic village. The Washburn School, a one-room schoolhouse built in 1907, is part of that village too.

McHattie Park sits on Pontiac Trail between Nine Mile and Ten Mile Roads. The park connects to the Huron Valley Rail Trail, a paved path laid along a former rail line that runs from South Lyon through Lyon Township and into Milford Township.
